The legendary Serracino vineyard was originally planted in the late 1800’s. This dry-farmed vineyard is located just south of Lake Sonoma in the northern end of the Dry Creek Valley. At only 15 acres, this Zinfandel-dominate vineyard also includes some plantings Petite Sirah, Carignan, and Alicante Bouschet all on the St. George rootstock. The clusters were harvested in the early morning hours when sugar levels are at their lowest. After the grapes were crushed as whole clusters, the resulting juice had about 30 minutes of contact with the skins before being moved into a stainless-steel tank for fermentation utilizing the native yeast. After the fermentation was complete, the wine was racked only once before being bottled.
